Morgan Library & Museum - NYC
My Mom mentioned to me how much she enjoyed the Morgan Library & Museum, and since it was just a couple blocks from my hotel, it was the perfect opportunity to check it out. I took me a few minutes to realize we were talking about Pierpont Morgan, the banker and father of JP Morgan. The museum is located in Manhattan on Madison Ave between E. 36th and 37th.
Rotating art exhibitions are displayed in several small galleries. There is a pleasant central atrium, where there is a cafe for lunch or snacks and violin music the afternoon we were there. And then there’s the library, which was built around 1902 as Pierpont Morgan’s library to house his books and collections.
The three rooms in the library are intricately decorated and really beautiful.
