La Qchara - Melrose, MA

After an afternoon driving across Connecticut and Massachusetts, we were nearly to my sister's and needed some dinner.   Vegetables were not highly featured on our recent eating adventures in NYC, so with one of the primary goals of finding some vegetables, we ended up at La Qchara in Melrose, MA.  My parents had been there before and it's a favorite of my sister, so it came highly recommended.

It's kind a funny place at first glance, more coffee bar than restaurant.  The food is described as new latin, central and south american.  They had a pretty extensive menu with a variety of options.  Focusing on vegetable options, I ordered the Vegetal Torta.

It was really tasty and really hit the spot, there might have been a bit too much cheese on it, since it started dripping out, but otherwise, it was very enjoyable and fulfilled my immediate need for veggies.  It also came with yuca fries and a green dipping sauce.  The fries were nice and crispy, but the sauce didn't have a lot of flavor.
