La Moule
La Moule opened shortly after my winter 2015 trip to Belgium and fond memories of the trip have sent me back there periodically. The menu has several mussel options along with some other French-ish/NW plates, like steak frites and dungeness crab salad.
We ordered the Marniere mussels with garlic, shallots, capers, butter, herbs, and chili flakes. It comes with a nice piece of french bread for dipping in the yummy sauce. The mussels were plump and massive. I have to say my experience with mussels in Belgium was a bit different, there wasn't much, if any, additional flavoring added to the mussels during steaming and there were about four times as many. But there something really satisfying about a bowl of mussels with bread to dip in the broth.
The burger, which comes with a knife stuck through it, had a thick slab of chewy bacon along with brie. It came along with pickles, crispy fries and aioli.
