Majordomo - LA

Majordomo - LA

On our recent trip to LA, I had one night set aside for a fancy dinner. After looking at many option, I settled on Majordomo, because it seemed like it would be fun. It was definitely a bustling restaurant and it was fun and a good meal.

We sat outside in the covered patio area and it was a chily night, but we weren’t cold. The menu is split up into different categories and we tried to make a selection from each. And then there was a Pimm’s Cup to start.

From Raw, we had tuna tartare, which was served in a lettuce wrap style.

Our selection from Bing, a Chinese flatbread, was a pleasant surprise. I didn’t really know what to expect, but the bread was soft and great to dip in the Smoked eggplant spread.

From Market and Snacks, we ordered Heirloom tomatoes with sesame and shiso, because I can pretty much never turn down an heirloom tomato. The sesame was a really nice combo with the tomatoes.

The last two dishes were served at the same time and it turned out they went really well together even though we didn’t necessarily plan that when we ordered. Mushroom crispy rice was served in a cute little cast iron dutch oven, which was super crispy on the bottom.

And then Wagyu Tri-tip with maitake. The steak was grilled and super tender. And that was it, that’s all we could possibly eat.
