The room was really pretty with hanging plant baskets attached to the ceiling.
And the table was spread with these gorgeous crudite platters with bread and dipping sauces. Really I could have stopped there, it was so attractive looking and yummy too. And great for a summer evening. My favorite dipping sauce was the sesame aioli, but there was also a vinaigrette, hummus, and yogurt sauce.
And then there was the butter platter, and I can’t even remember what all of them were at this point, but I know one was brown butter, which I’ve never thought to use for spreading on bread.
The first served course was cauliflower with saffron, capers, and black garlic. This course okay, but a bit of a let down after the fun dippings sauces.
The green garlic risotto on the other hand, was another highlight of the evening. It was probably one of the most perfect risottos I’ve eaten. Flavorful, creamy, and slightly chewy.
The main course was chicken terrine with sprouted lentils, this was odd and not very pretty to look at. Each part on it’s own, didn’t really make a lot of sense, although they tasted good when eaten together.
Dessert was a roasted peach with tapioca and pop rocks. The pop rocks were fun or weird depending on how you feel about them.
And in an effort to move us out of the restaurant, we were given the mission to go find a marshmallow at one of the local nearby bars. A fun end to the meal.
