Spitz
I have to admit, most of the kebabs I've eaten, were from a little stand in Torun, Poland in 1996, where I studied abroad. I had never encountered a kebab, in my small-town upstate NY childhood, and thought it was pretty great (and a nice alternative to a year of cabbage and potatoes).
Fast forward to 2017, I heard about Spitz Mediterranean, a small chain that just recently expanded into Portland, and thought, it might be fun to try out their version of the doner kebab. They have a number of options, so I decided to go with the Street Cart Doner, declared to be their most popular, with beef and lamb and there were a few veggies in there too. This was a seriously meaty sandwich and the fried lavash chips that were rolled up with it all were little flavor bombs that made this sandwich was pretty tasty and filling.
