Rimrock Inn

Rimrock Inn

In the far Northeast corner of Oregon, just before the Washington border, the Rimrock Inn sits at the edge of Joseph Canyon. If you’ve ever wanted to sleep in a tipi, this is the place.

There are 3 tipis and one lodge suite, an on-site restaurant, and gorgeous views. There are port-a-potties near the tipis and a bathroom and shower (available during the day, but not at night) inside the lodge.

We arrived in the late afternoon, and took a short walk on a nearby trail overlooking the canyon before dinner. The wildflowers were spectacular right at the beginning of July.

For dinner we ate at the on-site restaurant, as the nearest town is Enterprise and about a 30 minute drive. We sat out on the deck, watching the hummingbirds zooming around, and ate a tasty meal of steak with a baked potato and steak salad.

There are fire pits set up near the tipis, and although you can’t cook a meal on the fire, roasting marshmallows is allowed. So we sat and watched the sunset and ate s’mores.

I managed to catch the spectacular sunrise over Joseph Canyon the next morning.

Breakfast was included with our stay, and there were a couple different options to choose from. Once again we sat out on the deck and enjoyed the views.

We stayed two nights and very much enjoyed it.
