NPS Sites of the East Bay Area - part 4 - Eugene O'Neill NHS

On a quiet Sunday morning, we met the NPS ranger giving the tour for Eugene O'Neill NHS at the San Ramon Valley Museum in Danville.  There were only 5 of us on the tour, and this park in another on the least visited list.  Tours are offered Wednesday through Sunday, with self-guided tours on Saturday and guided tours the rest of the week.  No matter what day you visit, you must catch the shuttle in Danville.

The house is high up in the hills above Danville with lovely views of the surrounding hills.  First the tour led us through the house, and although many of the items in the house are not original, when the park service took over the site, they were able to set-up the rooms based on a magazine article.

After the house tour, we had some time to wander the grounds and think about jumping into the very inviting pool.
