2017 Favorites - Year in Review
2017 was not a year of big travel, but I still had some fun adventures and great meals.
The most exciting trip, of course, was my visit to Nebraska, my 47th state. I also traveled to some of the least popular national park sites in the Bay area, spent a great long weekend in Phoenix with my family, and watched a week of sunsets over Cayuga Lake.
In Portland, my favorite bites were at Ataula, Han Oak, Feast Food Fest and Quaintrelle.
And out of Portland my favorites were, absolutely everything I ate in Vancouver, but particularly - Thomas Haas, Chef Tony, Dinesty, and Ramen Danbo. And beyond Vancouver, Elote Cafe, Sedona (smoked chicken tamal), Tartine, San Francisco (eclair), Manresa, San Jose (it was all fabulous, but uni with crispy potato is what comes to mind right now), and Zahav, Philadelphia (salatim, watermelon salad) were all really great.
And on to 2018!
