Travel Goals for 2017
A couple years ago, I started writing a list of travel goals at the beginning of each year. I have rarely accomplished much on this list, but it is fun to write out places I want to try to go and think about how I might make it happen.
In 2016, my travel planning ended up being a bit more organic, than I might have expected. Receiving two discount vouchers on Alaska Air led to a weekend in Austin and a roadtrip to Sequoia/King's Canyon (which was the only item on my 2016 list that I accomplished). And wanting a trip somewhere before some family time in August, led to 10 days in Newfoundland. The highlight of the year and totally unexpected, was a week in China. I found out about 2 weeks beforehand that I would be able to tag along on my boyfriend's business trip to Beijing and central China.
And so, on to 2017. I just started a new job, so I'm not expecting a lot of big travel to happen this year, but perhaps some weekends here and there.
1. visit one of the states I haven't been to: NE, MS, AR, OK
2. National parks of California - Channel Islands or sites around Oakland
3. lots of camping
4. see Hamilton??? (maybe December in NYC?)
5. city weekends: DC, Sitka, NYC, Atlanta, Charleston, Victoria
6. something tropical - Hawaii, Tahiti, Belize, Dominica
7. something international - Norway, Barcelona, Bhutan, Croatia, South Africa, New Zealand
